Watch out, there’s a tank about! It’s the only one in the league so far, a big bad monster which fires with the thrill of pure power. She’s the fastest there is, and can jump too, so don’t be underneath! In support of Bonnie’s lightning jeeps, it makes for a great combination. I’d ask for more tanks to join. There’s some mighty ones about. But maybe next season!

At top speed my sledgehammer tank can match a jeep with the flag. Good for sitting in behind to shield them, if not for my rank. I wish more players would try them, there’ss a great buzz from blasting an enemy or sending a jeep into orbit. But there’s nothing so satisfying as taking out another tank, only bettered by fighting alongside one of the great ones. The feeling of power is tremendous.

I kept training with each type and with different upgrades. The predator’s nippy but oversteers, while the barbarian’s more of a deathmatch thug. I chose the fastest, well-balanced, with enhancements for turning/braking and extra armour.

 

It took practise, but some jumps were more successful than those in a jeep, such as over the special weapon at eagle or onto the gantry at jacksons. Long shots with lock on weapons are perfect for tanks but I like to mix in at close range, and learning to turn the turret fast was hard work. The fun bits are braking to see a jeep shoot straight through to be blown up in front, and reversing while firing backwards. With a click the gun’s forward again to take out those following.

I’m a big target, usually playing ctf with more deaths than kills, but it’s effective as part of a team which works well together. One day I might even learn to drive a jeep!
